UNLOCKING THE FUTURE OF DRIVING

DISCOVER THE SOLUTIONS
FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

RESPONSIBLY
SOURCED MATERIALS.

The wood frame in BMW iX center control is FSC-certified wood, and the floor panels are made of Econyl© fabric—a regenerated nylon made from ocean waste, such as fishing nets.

Furthermore, we incorporate naturally tanned leathers, kenaf—a sustainable raw material that replaces petroleum-based plastics, and an average of 60 kg of recycled plastics into each new BMW Group vehicle.

FEWER EMISSIONS
DURING PRODUCTION.

BMW manufactures its own batteries using 100% renewable energy and continuously working to reduce their CO2 emissions globally.

A 78.1% reduction in emissions generated during the production of every vehicle from the BMW Group has been achieved between 2006 and 2022.

CLOSING THE BATTERY
LIFE CYCLE.

BMW has also developed a process to recycle up to 96% of battery components in the future.

By using responsibly sourced cobalt and lithium for its batteries and employing fifth-gen eDrive technology, BMW eliminates the need for rare-earth materials in the electric motor.
